MEMBERSHIP

GRGCC Members who wish to use our ranges are required to possess all necessary provincial and federal permits needed to possess, transport and employ firearms. Angling members are likewise required to possess and comply with all existing laws, rules and regulations in their sport.

Our Membership Year (MY) runs from 1 February until 31 January of the following year. Membership rates are not pro-rated.

Members who have paid for range privileges (see Fees below) can shoot on the Club ranges on approved days (see 'Calendar' web page) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Ranges are CLOSED To Firearm Use on all Wednesdays and Sundays, as well as Christmas Day). The range is CLOSED To All Use over the Thanksgiving weekend to assist our island artists in presenting their Studio Tour.

Occasionally, specially scheduled Club events will restrict use of ranges for the general membership (e.g. Trophy Shoots in April, Father's Day Shoot, Xmas Turkey Shoots, Boxing Day Trap Shoot, Canadian Firearms Safety Courses, etc.).

Paper targets and the target-holding frames at our Club ranges are NOT financed from the Club's Treasury, but are provided by the 'largesse' of individual Club members. Members can contribute to this philanthropic, symbiotic situation by bringing paper targets to the range for use and taking care to not hit the target frames when firing.

This Club is run by Volunteers. Members are expected to pitch-in where/when they can to share the burden of running the Club (e.g. facilities and grounds care, committee staffing, project management, executive duties, etc.). Nothing helps . . . . .  like HELP.

The 2012 Initial Membership Application and Renewal Form is available HERE . This FORM is a 2-page Form: for Regular members on one side, and for Youth Group members on the other side.

Look to the LIBRARY/REFERENCE web page for current Range Rules & Regulations .

To pay for on-going costs on the ranges, an annual $10 range fee (good for all ranges) is included in the membership fees for those members who plan to use the ranges. This $10 fee will not apply to many of our members who will not be using ranges (e.g. anglers, non-shooting supporters, etc.), consequently $10 will be deducted from the Annual Membership Fee.

Our Guest Fee is $7 per-shooter-per-day ( range fees and insurance ).

The ‘Sign-In’ boxes in each range are intended to collect Guests Sign-In Chit/Fees and Member's Sign-In chits during unscheduled, individual shooting. If Members are attending a scheduled Club event (e.g. Trap Day, Bullseye Handgun or Benchrest rifle), then the Organizer of that event will see that all names are recorded and fees collected, hence no Sign-In Chit completion is required by a Member. Guests at a scheduled event should still complete a Sign-In Chit to capture all information for insurance purposes.
